The major of meteorology in one that is both exciting and rewarding. Choosing the right school or university for you will be the first step to complete your goal of becoming a meteorologist. Typically, an individual usually will attain an undergraduate degree in a field related to environmental science while focusing on topics such as atmospheric science and geoscience.

After the undergraduate degree, the university or college will offer a master's degree of science in Atmospheric Science. Most graduate level university or college programs for meteorology provide students with a sound technical background geared towards employment. A PhD will top off your education.
